What is this thing (Pic)


the thing that connects to the right rear of the manifold. when i had it off it looked dirty on the inside all black. How to clean it and what does it do?

IACV - idle air control valve. Controls the engine idle speed during startup, etc.

(You are talking about the part with 3 connectors right?)

Ya would that being dirty cause the car to be really hard to turn over?

It won't affect "turning over" as much as perhaps affecting how quickly the car catches - since when the throttle is closed, the only air is passed through the IACV.

Well what happens is i turn the key and it cranks and cranks and cranks until i pump the gas and then it finally turns on and then i gotta rev it a bit to keep it goin

You might need a new starter.

Starter was replaced 5k miles ago and just started to happen. The engine cranks really good just dont light the gas. as soon as i start pumpin the peddle it turns on

Fuel pressure problem. Probably the pump malfunctioning. Spray a bunch of starting fluid (or even carb & choke cleaner) in the tb, then put the intake back on and then try to start it. If it fires right up, you know you have a fuel issue.
