1995 Mass Air Flow

Has anyone had a 95 MAF go bad on them? My car hesistates/surges when I floor it quickly. The same symptoms are said to happen for 00+ mafs but I'm wondering if the same can happen to 95-99 MAFs.

disconnect your MAF sensor, and see if the problem is still there. The ecm will use the TPS and o2 sensor to determine how much air is comming through.

My 98 does the same thing. I replaced MAF, Plugs, Fuel filter, air filter, PCV and belts.

It will run perfect and fast for 30mins, then I get surges and the car seems to loose its pull power. Almost as if I am trying to drive with the ebrake on.

Any ideas?

^ It will, it just won't really accelerate or go above 1800rpm. You can step on the gas all the way and he car will barely move.

No, I don't but I'm sure some could interpret what you said as the car not running at all.

Yeah...my MAF went on me about four months ago like a previous post said, it would run fine until the engine warmed up then it would start hesitating and stuff. Sometimes it would cause the engine to idle inconsistantly and shut off. It's fixed now, but I can't remeber how much I paid. LOL. GL

I think Dave B sells brand new maxima MAFs for cheap, but I don't know if he has 95-99 MAFs.

Yeah my MAF disconnected, the whole thing that is, clamp wasnt on tight at all. Car would idle very low and then die, and when floored it would hardly accelerate at all, put MAF back on and car was perfect again. (Had me worried for a few mins)

Right, why would Dave B be selling MAFs?

Unless I'm hallucinating, DAVEB does sell new MAFs:

Also, could a bad MAF cause the car to run lean? Or affect A/F in any way.

What does that mean when the car does that? My Maxima does it. I think they all do because my 95' and 93' Maxima does that. I learned to accept my "Turbo-lag."
