well all the times doing this theyre cheap enough im just going to replace the back ones i dont like opening and closing these seals over and over again. I think its me being impatient and them being stiff from bein new. Should i wait to buy a head gasket until i inspect the one on the car or just replace it no matter what. If im doin all that work i feel almost stupid if i dnt replace it but seing ur oppinion

If you tear everything apart, it makes NO SENSE, not to replace all the gaskets, especially the head gasket once your are there.

Just do the bank that has the cylinder with no compression (rear in your case).

Talked with the mechanic today while picking up the car and he did the test with 2 caps of oil and he got compression meanin its somethin in the lower end. He also said its oil burning for sure. Looks like im done worryin bout gaskets and stuff and am going to drop another engine in. Guy is a good friend of my dads friend and wouldnt lie and he knows im not going to him to put the engine in anyways. Also feel safer with a less then 30k remanufactered engine with a warranty in the car anyways. Its gonna be around a grand for everything. so i dont think thats to bad

Sounds like you just got a "take your time & rebuild it project"! I'm assuming you already have a source for the replacement motor?
