Race story
#1
I was challenged by a Ford Contour GL 5spd tonight. Everyone said it was supposed be pretty fast, but it wasn't. We started at the red light and when it turned green we were off. About 200 yards later I was about 10 car links ahead of him. It was pretty funny. But when we got back to the plaza(where everyone hangs out in our town). He started talking **** saying he wasn't gonna give me any credit cuz I had an auto and he missed 3rd. While he was talking **** it had already got around that I was pretty fast. Then a big gold F150 V8 Triton came up. He was like "let's run em'". So everyone loads up and goes back to the red light. Soon as the light turns green I slammed it in first and floored it. He was spinning tires behind me and then grinded 3rd, so I thought I would give him another chance. The second time he was like are you ready and as soon I said ready he stomped and got a full car length in front of me before I could go. After I caught up with him he slowed down because his radar detector went off. The last time we ran. the light turns green and we both get off to a good start. We run side by side for about 100 yards. Soon as I kick it into drive he starts gradually fading back some. Pretty exciting night for me. After those races I had 3 Civics, a 3000GT(would kill me), and a Eclipse wanting to race. Also got to test out my new intake

race
i'll soon be racing my friends father's 68 Jaguar XJ12, its some sort of "racing edition" he claims. claims its far faster than the normal XJ12 of that year... which ran like 16.5 1/4 mile times. also he is going to attempt his dad to let him take out his 69 Mustang Shelby GT350.... might as well race that too... but that i believe will beat me handily... still be a fun an unusual race however. oh yeah, and im going to get to ride in his neighbors yellow F355 Spider sometime in the next week and a half... hows that for cool.

TO be challenged by a Ford Countour(non-SVT, don't think they can beat a Max either) is quite laughable. They are slow as heck. I should know, I rented one when my car got in an accident, albeit was an auto. But anyway they got no go at all. Acceleration from a stop was painfully slow. The thing it has over the Max is that its a gas saver. HAHA

Good kills!!!
I had my share of fun last night when a Dodge Neon was trying to race me, he had a big wing on his neon, and decided to nail it when he was next to me, and I just pressed on the accelerator, and had to wait for the car to downshift (auto), after a couple of seconds, it was bye bye neon.

yet another kill
Today I was heading down the highway and I heard a deep growling intake, but it wasn't mine. It was a red Mustang(V6) coming up on me. He got beside me and started jumping in front of me and falling back. So when we got to the red light he started reving it up. That was the signal for me to smoke his ace. Soon as it turned green we both floored it. He got me on start off but then something weird happened. It's called him EATING MY BREAK DUST as I slowed down at the next red light. Yet another kill to add to the victory board boys.

Just recently, I was making a right turn onto a major road when a brilliant silver vehicle with HID lights decided to make a left turn on a red and come behind me. The fellow driving the car was middle-aged, and kept looking over as we approached a red light. He was equipped with a 2000 (or 2001?) Audi TT coupe (I dont know much about them), most probably the 180hp 5speed trim level. The light turned green, and I roasted him with my pre-30K mile-service I30t. He was VERY upset as he flew by me with a nasty look. End of story.

ya those v6 rustangs can't get out of their own ways. A 5-spd one will lose to a Auto-Magic maxima everytime.

While the SVT Contour is one of the more respectable Fords, it still runs over 7s. I don't think the GL is that far behind, but not nearly enough for a Maxi. Heh...amusing that somebody that races uses having a stick as an excuse for a loss. I guess since he missed a shift, but still...the picture of somebody going "But you have an auto, and mines a stick!" in my head made me laugh

On friday night at the local 1/4 mile track I raced a '97 Tacoma 4X2 with the TRD supercharger. He was a 5-speed and Im a '95 GXE auto. Well, long story short his run was a 17.89 and mine was a 16.59. After the race he was all up in my face asking for a rematch - saying that he missed 2nd and 3rd. I told him that if he cant drive a 5-speed thats his problem, if he wants to go again just drive up next to me - after I said this he backed down and left the park. Later that night I beat 2 different late 90's Preludes. They wouldnt say what mods they had but I beat the first by 1.1 seconds and the second by .8 of a second. They were REALLY ****ed when they say that I drive an auto. Here is a piece of advise - Find out what your competition has before you race them! My $1,000 intake and exhaust system has dropped my 1/4 by .75 of a second. And just look in my sig to see what it did for my corrected time(it use to be a 16.67 before any mods)
