Cattman Catback Installed

First of all i would like to thank Maximus32 for selling his catback to me. Second this exhaust is an exceptional piece of work, from the design to the welds. It sounds very deep when cruising and a little loud @ WOT but overall very nice tone. It should quiet down in a couple of weeks and I might decide on which Y pipe to get. I have no pics so don't ask but if I was shopping for an catback, I would go with Cattman, period.

everything sounds good and deep with stock y pipe, unless you have an aftermarket y pipe or headers or somthing they all pretty much sound the same and cannot be judged by that for others that have the y pipe ect. also like everyone else says the y pipe will add alot of noise overall and alot louder idle. -Ryan

Get a Y!! The budget Y i paired with my cattman CB sounds great, and doesn't buzz at all. Though it's a little on the loud side, it definitely grows on you, and the gains are definitely worth it! Anyway, glad to see you're enjoying the exhaust, i'd agree that it's an awesome piece in terms of quality, and would recommend it to others without hesitation.

And if you don't like the sound just floor it to get away, I mean with the Y pipe gains you should be able to break the sound barrier right?

Dunno if you were replying to me or just in general, didn't mean to exaggeragte the gains, but they are noticeable. Oh, and breaking the sound barrier shouldn't be a problem... this one time, I actually went faster than the speed of light with just I/C/Y. Yeah, j/k, that was dumb, I really need to catch up on sleep.

Does anybody have a sound clip with cattman catback and any type of y pipe. I am just curious what "loud" really sounds like.

Just want to give an slight update on sound with the Cattman catback. I really do not hear it anymore and neither do people outside the car while driving. Only when it is neutral or WOT does its presents felt (slightly). The techs at my job make fun of me because it sounds like a stock set up and wonder way I got it in the first place ( I know why). So now I really want to hear what it sounds like with a y pipe. I narrowed it down to Cattman or Budget after going thru the exhaust treads. Cattman might be the one because the craftmanship of the catback and the several horror stories of the budget y pipe.

It would be interesting to see what it sounds like with the y-pipe. I've read of it being loud and drony with the y. Hey Nismotic did you get a y-pipe yet?

i got a y pipe and b pipe stock muffler sounds great, both budget products. I plan on getting a cattman muffler SS when i got 300 bones.only troubles I had to find a special hanger in the back. The b pipe was always rubbing on the metal lower bar and i kept breaking little rubber hanger back there. But then i when to midas for some answer and they had this awesome hanger with metal inside of it. I dont know where they got it from but it fixed it real nice and still holding strong!

Come to mention it I did hear two maximas that had only the y pipe and it sounded a little louder than my catback (deep tone).

Nothing really. Car looks good as always

A local guy has the SP1 w/out y and it sounds so awesome. The only aftermarket y I've heard that sounds good with a catback are the Cattman headers. It is pricey but seems to be worth the money.
