Trunk leaks!! WTF??

My trunk is leaking again. I know I did one time but I thoght it was the screws for my spoiler. I sealed them with clear silicone. It now is leaking again. I see no run marks from water and the trunk seal looks mint. I am clueless. If i fit in the trunk i'd climb in and have water sprayed on it, but that isn't happening. If anyone has any ideas, let me know. Thanx in advance.

Bill

I can fit in your trunk. I'm smaller than you.

i had that problem, if you look at the gap between the quarter panel and the trunk, the check the welds, i had a pin size hole and it was leaking water like crazy, it was right above the lights, basically on the corner

If you have a sunroof, the drain tubes run to the trunk. If the tubes aren't placed in the drain holes, that could be it. Maybe also check to make sure your antenna assembly is secure...

The most common place for water to get into your trunk is through the tail lights. Especially if they have been removed and reinstalled on the car.

The trunk seal really isn't the seal for water, the channel around the trunk is there to guide the water out, right over the tail lights! Open the trunk and pour water down your rear window and watch exctly where it goes, out over the tail lights.

Go to the auto parts store and get a package of Dum Dum strips. Remove the tail lights and put a new strip of black Dum Dum over the old stuff. Reinstall the tail lights, pressing them firmly into place.

Yeah i removed the tails to put the clears in . But I did seal it with new stripping. I really do need to fix it. One time before I took the plug in the btm out. The sparetire well was 5 inches deep. Also to let you know I don't have a sunroof. Thanks everyone.
