Interest in 95-96 CF Trunk?
I was wondering if some 95-96 guys would be interested in having a CF trunk made. The cost would run roughly $300 w/o shipping (this is estimated). If there is enough people looking to buy one, then I'll have to start looking for a donor trunk lid.

uhh...sorry guys. I'm just trying to gather interest so there won't be any pics unless it actually gets done. If you really would buy it for $300, just let me know. 8 buyers + would be good enough to get this going. Also, if anyone in SoCal knows where I can get a good condition trunk w/o spoiler, it'd help me a lot too.

Thats a good price...
Better than the 5th genners paying more than twice that only to save 7lbs I realize that some get it for the look, but perosnally for my purposes, I'd get it to save weight but the 5th gen is only saving 7lbs I'd rather go on a diet.

really gotta wonder about the quality with the price being 1/2 that of the competition
personally i'd rather do the 97+ conversion while i'm at it when i shell out the money for a CF trunk lid
but hey not meaning to rain on your parade, good luck with having that made

I don't like 97-99 trunks. 95-96 always looked way better to me.
I'd be very interested. I'm repainting my car next spring so I'd get CF hood + CF trunk before doing so.
How much weight do we save over the original Trunk?

The market is a little smaller, but I know some people want to maintain the older 4th gen look. If these get made and the people that bought one, like it, post pics, etc. then 97+ guys can determine if they'd want one made as well.

Here's a question for all your CF guys:
Does switching to a CF hood or trunk compromise the collision strength/properties of the vehicle in a negative way? i.e. in a front end collision, are you likely to sustain more damage to the car or yourself with a CF hood in place of the regular hood?

A sacrifice for cosmetics, so people CF people need to be extra careful (including myself)

bump.
So far I have 3 local buyers including myself. Looking to get about 3 more guys and this can get started. (The first 6 will have to leave a full deposit). Shipping will be $165 to anywhere in the US. The trunk's cost is set at $300 at least for the first 10 people. After that, it may or may not be produced anymore since demand is so small. Color kevlar is optional for anyone that wants it for $100 more.
