my max is having trouble starting plz help

for some reason when i turn the key, the car is having trouble starting up. at one point it wouldnt start at all. but it did after 10mins or so. i changed to battary about 2 months ago, the temp is normal. so what else can it be? spark plugs, starter (i popped the hood and didnt hear any clicking noises but did hear a quick small gridding noise when the car wasnt starting up)?

Check your starter or your ignition switch.

I would check the connections to the battery first and make sure the terminals are clean and tight. Then of course, like everyone else said, it could be the starter. But if it was the starter, I would not expect it to crank the engine at all. I guess plug could be an issue, but you would most likely be experiencing other problems, like misfire and/or poor acceleration if this was the case.

Sorry for intruding into your thread but I need help with my max really bad!!! I got this wrecked 98 gle with 23,xxx miles and it will not start. the battery is fine but when I turn the key to start it makes 1 click noise under dash by the fuses. It does that every time I try to start it. I don't think it's the starter because of the low milage. A friend of mine told me it could be the factory alarm system not letting me start the car. There was an aftermarket alarm system on it that I took off and connected the wires back how they once were. What do you guys think I should do. I don't want to tow my car to the dealer but if someone could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. I read a bunch of threads on slow starting but have not found one with the problem I'm having so if anyone has experienced this please tell me how you fixed it. THANK YOU One more question: is my car still under any kind of warranty?

Go to a local hardware automotive store, they can check your start for free.

It just clicks once and thats it?

check you batter (after trying to crank many times and no luck you will start to lose battery power, at some point it will need a jump)
Make sure your getting fuel
make sure your getting spark
check the cam sensor, crank ref position (ref&Pos)
Check all fuses

Did you just purchased this wrecked GLE, and are trying to bring it back to working status? Do you know how long the car was sitting where ever it was?

I purchased the max this spring from copart auto auction I don't know how long it sat before.
My battery is fine got about 12.6 volts. the solenoid is getting power I used a test light on it. The fuses are fine the ignition start fuse(under dash board) lights up when the key is turned to start. Another weird thing that I didn't notice before is there is a clicking noise coming from (im going to try to explain it best I can because I don't know exactly what it is) connection closest to the oval plastic thing that the cruise control and throttle cables go through. its got about 5 wires and you can feel it clicking inside if you put your fingers on it. It does that when you turn the key to ON position.
How do I check to see if I'm getting fuel and spark? Ill try to find the cam sensor. What is the crank ref position?
