Oil change question

I'm sure you've all noticed the line covered in loom that is conveniently secured right underneath the oil filter. It is tucked right into that little bracket where the oil drips in when changing filter and dirt subsequently accumulates. I've tried to stuff a small rag in there when changing, but there should be an easier way, like re-routing the line in that area. Not really much of a service loop available. I'd be interested in hearing how creative others have solved this problem. Thanks in advance for any info.

I've just dealt with it as I believe that line is for your crankshaft position sensor for your crankshaft pulley. It also routes over to your Oil pressure sending unit.

I didnt know that line included the crank pos, figured just oil press from what I could see. I guess I could deal with it. Maybe if I cut out the loom in that area, wrap the wires in good heat shrink, add some teflon protective tubing, then add another seal of heat shrink, and then reapply the loom.... but that is just too ****. I dunno

I honostly think the wires are ok as long as there isn't any cuts or nicks there?

I know, I'm just thinking long-term. It seems like a poor original engineering design.

Spray it clean with some brake cleaner. Its what the shop I used to work at used to clean oil drips out from under the cars, if you don't the customer comes back thinking they are loosing oil.
