I understand this, and I also know you can add some ATF to your gas tank to clean out the fuel injectors...i'm just saying that's not it's intended purpose, and there is a reason Nissan wrote "gear oil only". I admit, you got me on the fact that I don't know the reason you shouldnt put ATF in the manual tranny, but I wouldnt wanna be the one to need a rebuild just cause i 'wanted to know' I guess the best thing to do, since it is all speculation, is to have some facts on how exactly the fluid reacts with the metals in our trannies. I'll try to look it up.

i never said that anyone in particular said that....but ur arguments seem to suggest that is no problem with it....atleast the way i interpret them

No. My arguement suggested that saying "it won't work" without some sort of explanation was invalid.
