Auto Tranny Question

I've got an auto 99 max.
So far I've got a stage 2 VB job done and a high stall converter is on its way. I was just wondering if there was anything else I could do to improve my tranny. 5 spd swap isnt an option for me right now. Thanks for the help guys.

thats pretty much it for now unless you make it bullet proof. Or buy a high performance solenoid kit

How about getting a tranny cooler? I've got the B&M supercooler on mine.

Send a PM to i30krab or jamiecbr900

both of them have had the most auto tranny mods to MY knowledge, I could be wrong

As I posted recently, my tranny is now on the bench at NHR tranny. I'll keep you posted on what Rob finds and how he fixes it.

I talked to Rob at NHR Tranny and I broke some type of metal gear (I didn't understand exactly what he said, as anyone knows him he talks so fast!)

.
I learned that running a large tranny cooler, an external filter, and full synthetic fluid is well worth the trouble. He told me there was no sign of anything running hot and no pieces of metal floating around!

I finally got the story about the repairs;

The new 4th gear will be a 374 which will yield a final overall effective drive ratio of 273. This should give me better launch.

It is the hub spline on the forward clutch drum that broke. This is the oem part that Rob had hardened.

Rob has a new better 3rd drum that he will install. This will increase clutch capacity which will help 3rd gear because beefed up valve bodies tend to tear up 3rd gear.
I hope this makes sense.

So does a High-Stall and VB Modification (which is what exactly?) get you accelerating faster? Do you definitely need the Cooling System in order to run these?
