Where can I get NGK PFR5G-11's CHEAP?

Also....do you have to use a Nissan fuel filter? If you don't will it cause drivability issues?

Some owners insist that factory parts are superior. I do not share that opinion. I would buy any name-brand fuel filter... however, I shy away from all Fram filters because of the bad reputation earned by their oil filters.

As for a fuel filter, I would only go name brand that has a good reputation such as Purolator; otherwise get OEM Nissan. Hastings is also a quality fuel filter maker. Here's the part number:

Hastings Fuel Filter:

- 85 to 00 Maximas,# GF147
Price: $16.40

- 85 to 00 Maximas wanting to use 300Z filter,# GF270
Price: $15.75

Also, for a 4th gen, go ahead and use the 300z twin turbo filter, as it has more surface area and won't break down as quickly. I recommend 15k intervals for the standard filter and 30k intervals for the 300z TT filter.

As you can see below, it does fit in my 99 non-ABS:

i will have to check that out on my next FF change.. my next NON-ABS FF change that is

Yeah, getting it into my 94 would be no problem as there's about a foot of room to do that one. But I didn' try the 300Z filter until it was time to do the wifeys.....What a PITA.....4th gen fuel filter changes shouldn't be THAT difficult. As you can see here, my fat arms wouldn't fit, so I had to remove part of the intake to even get to it:




As for ABS, it's apparently worse to get to, so I would try the method mentioned where you remove where the fuel line connects to the rail and fuel pump ends and remove the whole thing.....Just an FYI for those curious.....

took me 8 mins .. NO ABS and CAI.. so i had room to throw a turbocharger back there if i wanted.. it was quick.. simple and easy

Hmmmm....good justification for the CAI....to get rid of all that crap in the way ot do maintenance work......
