Help! Recommend me a new suspention?

Hello, the time has come to replace the suspension on my 96 GXE Maxima. I want the new suspension to be very confortable. I am not a young dude anymore so rigid suspensions do not go very well with me. What would be the best replacement Struts/Shocks for my car, I am planing on still using the original stock springs. Thanks for any help.

From what I understand, Tokico HPs or Illuminas will give good results. The Illuminas are adjustable and from what I've read, offer the most comfort.

Tokico Blue HP's will give you back that smooth, factory like new ride.

you could just go to autozone/advanced auto parts and buy some for ur car. Im pretty sure they sell gabrials which come with a lifetime warntee , new for under 100 bucks. I was satisfied with the pair i got for my 92 for 50 bucks a piece

If you are after comfort, stick with your stock GXE springs.

So, does this mean that Illuminas don't provide a smoother ride than stocks or even HP's? Just curious. I have also done a little researching and I was under the impression that Illuminas on their softest setting was smoother than the HP's, which are supposed to return the max close to OEM.

i am not saying that i am just saying that is he going to use the adjustabilit of the struts or is he going to leave them at soft....if he is going to leave them at soft y spend 400 dollars on them when ucan get some from autozone for like 150-175....and they may be softer or a tad firmer but not much at all....if the replacements frmo AZ were firmer it would prolly wouldnt be very noticable since they are OEM replacements for factory....and frankly anything softer than factory is just boaty

you are gonna want to upgrade to an aftermarket strut. the monroes you put on are going to blow quickly if you lower your car... the lower you go the faster you will blow..

the illuminas are pretty much the best strut available for an aftermarket suspension... some will argue agx's but most say they are harsh in cold weather.

basically you should do your suspension right the first time and not have to worry about it again.
