Baby Car-Seat marks.....Leather help!
Hello Family. This 98 Maxima i just got has Tan Leather.
One owner car w/low miles and this Lady NEVER TOOK out the Car-Seat for children in the back...Never!
8yr's of Heat & Cold w/ the Carseats (2) in back both Strapped in.
You should see the horrible marks on the leather. The top-headrest part is the worst b/c it was smashing the leather.
ANY IDEAS or SUGGESTIONS on how to fix this...?
Im gettin the Heat gun out tonight w/ gloves on to massage it but im not sure if that will work at all....

If i remove the back seat, Any way i can push the foam back out using a heat gun or is it all sealed off behind there?...
Heat gun?!!
That's not the way.
Leave it to recover. Gentle massage. Leather reconditioner. If the head rest doesn't come back after a few weeks, you might look at replacing it, should be some available off a junker.
I had baby seat marks on my black leather rear seat. Had worn away the colour so badly it was showing almost white. I used a black spirit (alcohol) leather stain for reconditioning dance shoes, followed by a good conditioner. Now you can hardly tell there was a problem except by close-up examination.

The heat gun is the proper way to make the foam and leather come back to the original shape. Foam has memory and you can message the leather to get rid of the streach marks. We do work like that quite a bit in our shop. Just take your time, don't make the leather to hot, just hot enough to get the foam under it to heat up as well. Then lots of messaging it, over and over and over again. It will slowly start to reshape and the foam will fill in the dents left by the baby seats.
The process works, but it's time consuming.

vaccum them as good as you can. Wipe them down with a damp cloth, dry them and then apply some leather conditioner. Just by doing this, it will make it that much nicer. If you still see marks or which ever, just get it redyed and it will look new. Now if u have cracks or tears, u have to redo that part of the leather completly.

Thanks nj, always good to hear a PROFESSIONAL's Advice.....
Heat can help, use a hair dryer to take out small dents, it works. As far as the marks, use Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and a clean dry cloth to wipe after. Always use some conditioner after, I use meguiars cream and a clean rag. The magic eraser took out some marks that lexol cleaner did nothing to on my tan leather. Just plan on cleaning the entire seat, once you see how dirty it is. Only on tan, I would not try this on grey or black unless you test a small spot first. It works great to take out black marks or any stains you have.

You ever use a Leather Conditioner caller "Tanners" ? (red-bottle)
My family swears by it so im tryin that first.... they say its awesome stuff.
I have heard that "Tanners" is a good product just never used it. I only use the cream conditioner from Meguiars and use a small clean rag. The seats really need it after the magic eraser, tell me how it goes.
