stock shocks vs aftermarket??? help??

ok heres the deal. ive been hearing a realllllly loud like clanking noise coming from under my car like something is lose. but im pretty sure its my shocks. im going to put it up tomorow and check it out....but my actual question is:

if im planning on getting some lowering springs later in the summer...can i get the aftermarket shocks that youre supposed to use if u lower it and ride with them with my stock springs? does it matter?

EDIT: also, are KYB GR2 shocks good? i was lookin at this set: http://www.redlinemax.com/catalog/pr...roducts_id=120

look man ill give you a low down onthe kyb gr2... they plainly suck... i only hav them on the front... they are extremely stiff.. they dampen very little if any.. the car feels like a shopping cart.. i feel every little bump its getting so annoying that i try to avoid the smalles bumps on the road.. i can literaly stand on the upper radiator support and jump up and down and the front end does not move!!!
stay away man i make the mistake... thank god i didnt put them on the back... by the way i cant wait to get my tockico illuminas iv heard nothing but good things about them...

they are great, only thing is i just changed my springs again and on my right side i broke the top number thing off :P it was on 3 out of 5. I want to go softer, i hope i can just look at how the other one goes and maybe turn the little plastic piece inside the top. what a drag man what a drag.....
