rear deck light + spoiler
#1
hey what's up everyone i'm new here. just wondering how i can take off my rear deck light, since i have a spoiler with brake lights on it. it sorta doesn't look right, ya know? anyway the manual didn't really detail how to take it off real well, it just put a picture of the thing on there with a line pointed back. so i assumed i could just slide it off, but nope, it won't budge. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks a lot, keep driving the best car ever made.

section until you find the Center High Mounted Stop Lamp. It shows how to
remove the CHMSL for rebulbing. This is also the convenient way to clean
your inside rear window.
On the '99 Maxima, it works this way:
- push the CHMSL toward the rear window as far as it will go.
- lift the leading edge (the edge nearest you).
- slide the CHMSL toward you.
That's all there is to it. Three seconds. No tools, no sweat.

After you take off the CHMSL, you are left with two options, either bend the bracket so that it fits under the new CHMSL hole or take off the rear parcel shelf and unscrew the bracket. The choice is yours. If you go to the dealer for the cover, its called a CHMSL hole cover and shuld cost less than 25 bucks.
