does the catalytic converter effect the o2 sensor readings?

So just get an 02 sim to put a test pipe in for a cat since it will throw a cel if you dont put the sim in. Also the 3rd o2 sensor ONLY starts controling the engine, or hurting performance if the both the front y pipe o2 sensors fail. So to answer your question shotly, NO.
02 sim?

techically, a bad cat can affect the upstream o2 sensors, voltage changes in response to low flow, less o2 in signal to ecu causing adjustments to fuel ratio. this a bad example, but here goes, normally you wouldn't say your a$$ affects your mouth, until you get constipated, then you change what goes in your mouth so the flow can be corrected. one difference is the sensor can go bad if problem isn't corrected soon.

had a question in a different thread with no reply, So I'll try this one:
Isn't it true that if the front 2 o2 sensors are working properly, the rear is only checked on ignition? Therefore an o2 simulator wouldn't provide any performance gains given that there is no CEL (4th gen with y pipe) Correct??
