Need some opinions here please......

Alright, so not even 2 weeks ago I bought a '99 maxima SE-L 5spd with about 80k miles on it off another .org member here. I absolutlely LOVE it! It's already got some stuff done to it. As you see in the picture below it has a stillen front lip. (sorry for the shadows in the picture, it was EXTREMELY bright out that day) The lip is painted flat black. This is where I need some opinions, should I keep it as is, get the rest of the kit and paint it the same color or get the rest of the kit and paint it body color? I'm open for other suggestions.

thanks guys

Definitely finish off the kit and paint it body color. Congrats on picking that car up, it looks great so far! What kind of wheels are those?

not to follow the trend here, but absolutely body color. The lip looks good black, but anymore than that and the car will look....incomplete.

Yeah I hate different color kits on cars. Paint it the body color to have it blend. Looks good tho. Look into some new headlamps as well. Pretty dull compared to the clear corners and clear bumbers.

body color, either keep current, or add the rest, but definintely go body color. Cleans it up soooo much.

Well I do love the way it looks right now. I kinda think if I were to finish off the kit and paint it all flat black it would look to "ricy" if you know what I mean. But the all black would go nice with the color scheme on the car. But I think I will go with finishing off the kit and painting it body color, it will look the cleanest.

Thanks for the comments guys. The car is deffinetly nice and clean! Thanks to the previous owner. LOTS of goodies came with the car.

nearthisbridge: I believe the wheels are Montegi FF5 18x8 and the tires (if your wondering) are Falken ZX512 235/40/18 (I think that's the tire size) They're about 2 months old.

Hey cdg125....I totally agree with you on the headlamps being dull. Where could I find some better looking ones? I was thinking about doing the cefiros, but I hear you have to do some modifications. Would it be that hard?

If you keep just the lip, it looks fine just flat black, but if you get a whole kit you should paint everything. A whole kit just flat black looks stupid.

Just FYI body kits are not just a mod, they are a way of life! Many of them are VERRY low (I am only 4.5 inches off the ground) they look awesome, but you really need to drive carefully, I had to cut down on the stupid stuff I did a lot. The first time I hit a manhole cover that stuck up 2” and I was going down a bump on a ***** road, cost $500 to get it re glassed and I did a lot of the grunt work.
Just beware this is not just like getting some pretty rims that make your car pretty
PS black body kits look to ricey

Thank you redfox for your input, I'm pretty sure I'm closer to the ground than 4.5inches (the front lip that is) and I do realize I need to be careful, but roads here in phoenix are actually really nice, for the most part. I cleaned up A LOT of my driving habits as a teen. By the way, the kit is polyurethane which doesn't crack like fiberglass kits do. I can't tell you how many times I've parked too close to a curb and hit the lip. All the lip does is bend back a little. If I am right, when they send you the kit (the front lip at least) it's folded in 4 different places and placed inside a somewhat smaller box. That's what the previous owner mentioned.

The color is staying the same, I love how the color scheme is set up. It's very different. If I were to paint it, I'd paint it either dark metallic silver or like a pewter (spelling?) gray type color......painting a car is too expensive.......

here's a link to installing cefiro...http://www.redlinemax.com/3/CefiroWriteup.htm
My opinion... Pick up the rest of the kit, get the whole thing repainted the same color as the rims. that will tie the rims in nicely with the rest of the car and give it a unique look.
Pick up some plastic polish for those headlights and it will make them look almost brand new.
Hope that helps you out.

yes thank you for the help, that goes to everyone. I'm gonna try the plastic polish first, if it doesn't come out the way I want it too, I may go with the cefiros....we'll see.

Oh, could anyone possibly do a photoshop on the picture above with the whole stillen kit painted the same color as the front lip? if you need a better pic let me know.

83% and you're still gonna go black? You didn't really want our opinions, you just wanted SOMEONE to support yours. I don't like the rims and a black kit would look sick, LITERALLY. Your car would look like it has the FLU! Your car looks better than mine because i just use mine for work.

Same color stillen kit and change those awful rims. Sorry i HATE dark rims.

Mr. Willis, I never said I was gonna go with all black, refer to post #12. I personally LOVE my rims. It fits the car very nicely. I wasn't a fan of darker rims until a couple months back and I never liked the beige color before I saw this car. As for the post you quoted, I only wanted to see what my car would look like with the kit finished and painted black. But I'm pretty sure I'm going to finish the kit and paint it body color, it would look the cleanest. Again refer to post #12.

thanks for your opinion

Wow i totally misunderstood. MY BAD.
Your car looks nice but i just think the rims kill it, but dark rims are very popular right now. The stillen kits look nice bucause they're not "too much". But again wow...Those rims...When u glance at cars with dark rims it a almost looks like deep dark holes where the rim should be. LOL.

yeah I understand what you're saying. I was never into darker rims before, but like you said, they have been getting really popular and because of that darker rims have grown on me a lot. I agree with you on the stillen body kit, I never like any kits that are "overdone."

thanks
