Hey guys, my engine is making a strange whirring noise. I don't really hear it at idle, but it seems to pick up as I accelerate. It is prettty low at idle, and about 2500 rpm it gets drowned out by my intake. I think I didn't have enough oil in the engine for a while. I had a full tune up and it has gotten better, but it's still there. Anyone have any ideas. I know it's not much to go on, but any intelligent input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

 

a whining noise is likely to be your alternator. what year is your car? there was a recall on alternators for 1998 (and i think late 1997 too). if it's the alternator, and you do have a 1998, you can probably get it changed for free at the dealership.
