Most of the mount to the windshield I believe. My idea is to mount to the windshield as well and run the wires through where the stock mirror attaches to the roof lining. that way I dont need to remove the whole thing, just the mirror and the arm.

All you need is a windshield mount to mount the mirror. Most aftermarket mirrors come with all the different mounting hardware anyway. Here is a pic of my aftermarket mirror with temp, compass, and auto-dim.

Yep. Straight off eBay. The more features on the mirror, the more expensive. The ones with temperature and compass are going to run at least $100 or so. The auto-dims only are real cheap.

I kinda like my Broadway mirror. It attaches to the stock one. The pros...Greatly reduces the blindspot and minor glare reduction. The cons...If I have to move the sun visor then I have to move the mirror a bit. But since my visors are always down its not a big deal.

I only want auto dim and compass since I made an ambient temp button. Problem is that I cant seem to find just those two options. Seems like its either one or all three options. I'll keep looking I guess

I'm jealous of you 98/99 owners for that very reason; the amb temp button is the primary reason for getting the new mirror... well that and my mirror is starting to degrade. It looks like termites are attacking it!
