MEVI is better than 00vi you know why? The 00vi is ugly. There I feel better, the mevi produces good gains without looking tacky like the 00vi. most of us buy these cars because they are quick and they look good not just because they are quick. i would sacrifice a couple of horsepower to keep the engine comparment looking good, while still gaining a large amount of horsepower. just like i race my car with subs in it, i wont remove everything from my car just to gain a tenth of a second in the quarter. and thats all i have to say about that.

I have a MEVI, and I think the 00VI looks better. The MEVI with no cover just looks funny.

lol the endless debate... I personally love my MEVI looks and power but I have respect for those with the 00VI performance. To each his/her own.

^^^ werd. i say go with the one with more power. the 00VI would be best for daily driving as it adds power across the band and not just a big chunk at high revs. sure, the 00VI is a black plenum, but couldn't you do a little work and polish that baby up? a polished intake plenum and valve cover are sooo sexy together!

Yea the Mevi does look pretty with the cover, but the 00vi doesnt look that bad.

Performance > underhood cosmetics

I think the 00VI looks better, personally. It looks beefier to me...it LOOKS more performance-oriented, in a good way. I don't like the look of the MEVI even with a cover.

Bigger doesn't always mean better, I agree with Tatanko, the 00vi looks very good in 4th Gen engine compartments.

I kind of like the MEVI with the cover but functionality and true dual plenums > all cosmetics. If the 00VI looked like goatse I'd still probably want one. I'd just weld my hood shut.

Don't open your hood.

The 00VI looks like the 2000 Maxima engine because it essentially is. I don't get your reasoning. Who the fawk cares what the engine looks like? Your saying a big piece of metal can look good. Get your mind off the VI and look at all the other crap around the motor. If I desinged a car, I would have a hood underneath the metal hood. Motors are just disgusting.

i might be alone on this, but i dont really like engine covers, i like to seee my engine when i open the hood, i like to see everything and thats why i like the 00vi. Although if the 00vi came in aluminum or steel, a polished 00vi would look as good as it performs

So sorry. But the idea is the same--concept-wise, 00VI > MEVI.

This is the most rediculous thread ever. I have said it before a hundred times, the idea of MEVI should be dropped from the dictionary. It is worth (for both you and your wallet) to go through the struggles of installing 00VI to recieve the low-mid performance. This is not meant to insult MEVI owners because I know all of yall can waste my stock @$$ without trying, but the idea to take a stand against 00VI is downright stupid.

Yeah I like the look of the MEVI better but I'd much rather have the performance of the 00vi. Not many people will see the engine bay. I like to think they'd see my tails more then anything once the 00vi is in.

Most if not all MEVI owners are the people who got the MEVI back in its US inception in 2002. If I(and I'm sure I'm speaking for a few others out there as well) had not done the MEVI yet, I'd go with 00VI, but since it's just not practical to go from MEVI --> 00VI, I'll leave it as is. IMO, I think the VQ35 swap is a better idea than a VI of any sort sitting on top a VQ30.

Eh... I'm not so sure. The MEVI is much less of a pain to install on a 4th gen, and there's much less of a chance for stupid stuff to break and leave you stranded. Also, whether it's worth the extra time and money to go for the 00VI is a matter of personal opinion.
