There isn't actually a power "gain". The used term on this forum is "free". The pulley weighs, in relative terms, significantly less than the stock pulley which in turn permits faster revs. A before and after dyno shouldn't reveal more than 2-3 HP.

IMO if you want it then get it. I intend on getting one SOMEWHERE in the future. Faster revs will permit nicer hard shifts and easier rev matches/double-clutches.

I believe the lightened pulley is used for a SC'd set-up or anything running boost. I'm quoting someone on this (who's opinion is very valuable)

I would say the lightened (by itself vs. underdrive or both combined) came about as a RESULT of supercharged guys. Underdriving a supercharger would be bad. Doesn't really apply to turbos.

Underdriving has negative effects on non-supercharged cars, too, though. Personally I would never put an underdrive pulley on my car. Lightened, maybe, but not underdrive. I'd also never install anything not harmonically balanced.

):Orly.

We have lightened pulleys for our cars without boost.

The boost reference is wrong as well, a smaller pulley gives more boost when SC/ing. Get that valuble opinion looked at.

I would stay stock if you plan on running a supercharger.

I have an Unorthodox Racing Underdrive, and i didnt really feel much. After a while there was a LITTLE gain somewhere in there, but all these small gains will add up once you have enough of them. If you find one used, go for it.

If you're going turbo, then a lightened pulley should be the last thought on your mind.

Imagine you have a Maxima with 140K, original engine, original transmission, slipping original clutch. The synchros are started to go bad even when UPSHIFTING into 3rd and 5th gear. HMMMMMM Sounds like my situation. Double-clutching cures the problem
