engine cutting out past 3k

I just picked up my car from getting a new clutch put in and now whenever I get past 3k rpms the motor starts cutting out and doens't want to climb smoothly, it will still get to high rpms but it's really choppy and super rough. It runs fine at lower rpms. Also when I got it it was missing some intake hardware and the intake was kinda loose. Any ideas on what this could be?

Check for intake leaks and CEL codes.

no codes, by intake leaks, the seal isn't perfect is it, cause it's just like plastic meeting plastic, I don't understand how an intake leak would cause this.

If the air leak was after the MAF, then the MAF will not meter it and thus the car will be digesting unmetered air, and result in cutting out as you stated.

also check the maf sensor itself, wait...you said no cel? then whatever nmexmax said. I had to change two intake gaskets on cars with similar problems as yours, not maximas though; altimas.

MAF

start the car, and leave it in neutral. Slowly raise the rpms, does it go up fine? then try raisin the RPMs quickly, it should only go up to ~3000 and have a fuel-cut sound. If it does than its definitely the MAF

its not the maf itself, you wouldnt make it past about 2k. its sounds like a ****ty revlimiter at about then when its that thing itself
