had some org members put in the suspension about 2 weeks ago. springs in the rear were upside down (tighter coils shouldve been on the top), bushing near the mount was upside down, center bolt holding everything down was loose as hell, spring seat insulator was sliding off and the spring was sliding off with it. i think that's about it.

i have no clue what im looking at, but saw the other thread too and im sure installing your suspension inverted is not too good for the car or suspension.

for the fronts, it don't matter which way you put yer springs right?

kbmaxima, were you suffering any symptoms from this incorrect installation? paticularly, noise?

no noise in the rear at all. I think i had enough spiral wrap. again, i was trying to get this done in one shot, but now its the worst nightmare. the most noise is only in the front, like spring recoil ping, more like a bang every time i turn left.

as to who did it, i'm not gonna blow up his spot. i could, but that aint me

kbmaxima - so the "more compressed coils" should be facing the top...and the "least compressed coils" should be facing the bottom?

Your welcome Dave!

Who ever put that front suspension together really screwed it up. The old broken dust boot tops were left snapped into both left and right upper perches. Because of that, the new boots were never installed correctly, they were just left dangling on the strut. The isolators were in the wrong positions, we got rid of all that unneeded spiral wrap and to top it off neither side was clocked correctly. The left side was 90 degrees off, the right wasn't so bad, but still not correct. Once everything was repaired and centered the spring sits on the strut and upper perch correctly and the noises are now gone.

I look at it this way, too many beers can either result in utopia and amaszing things, or having your hand scraped to hell from a KS install (me) and/ or your suspension being installed upside down lol (this guy).
