last weekend i installed some new struts. now everytime i hit a bump they rattle and it sounds like they are loose or something? i didnt have a torque wrench when i installed them, so i just tightened the bolts as much as i could. i checked yesterday and they were still tight. the bolt which goes on the top of the strut to hold the spring compressed i put as tight as i could, which i think might be wrong and possibly need to loosen it? i came to that conclusion because i reached in over the tire and was able to sort of shake the spring ever so slightly. but im still not sure thats it.... any ideas? thanks in advance

 

First make sure ur springs are correctly seated in both upper and lower mounts..and retorque with as much weight in the back as possible....i always have a couple people in the back seat when torqueing rear springs just for good measure

 

i keep getting a knocking sound outta my struts, or at least i think its my struts. Seems to happen when im turing the steering wheel or im going over bumps, any ideas??????

 

the fronts need to be torqued properly or they will make popping noises cause teh bearing is jacked up....rattling int he front can be many things....loose ball joints tie rods....or struts

 

the springs are seated right. its my front struts that are rattling, so i guess tomorow in class ill grab an impact gun n kick the bolts asses.
