Trunk Gap/Loose Trunk.

Hey guys. I guys I never realized it, until yesterday, that my trunk latch is not tight or secure. When you close it, the trunk is not flush with the car. And, you can push down on it, and the trunk is loose. It feels like a latch issue. Is there any way to fix this? Tips? Thanks!!

you can do adjusting. the catch that is in the bottom is adjustable. when you open the trunk, look on the back where it latches and you will see two bolts, the only ones there. loosen them and pull them down.

I'm not sure if the part in the trunk lid is adjustable. never had to mess with that part.

Do you mean the locking mechanism on the inside is actually moving around? Did the spot welds break? The spot welds on mine broke a long time ago and I just ended up re-welding it on.

I have this same problem and when I drive and when I then come to a stop as I push on my break it sounds like a rattling noise coming from my trunk? Would that cause that just cuz the trunk doesn't close tight? The rattle is so freakin annoying...and it also does it when going over bumps and what not!! I CAN"T FIGURE OUT THO IF it is the trunk or the spoiler, cuz the spoiler seems loose a little too? Can anyone HELP??

Check and make sure jack is tight and also check to make sure spare is tight.
They both make rattles if loose.

is there a way to adjust the hood? cause i get rattling noises from the hood. i had to put tape around the hook on the hood to make up for the gap when the hood is closed.

Problem fixed. One of the bolts was loose. I tightened it. Didnt fix it. Then, I loosened both, moved the thing down, tightened them both, and it fixed it. Although I have a feeling that there is another underlying issue because where the bolts were, there were two rings, like they had been there a while. But there werent any other rings. Oh well...CF trunk sometime later on.

Thanks for this thread, I searched and found it since I have the same dilemma. I'll try moving the bolts down a little and see if mine tightens up.
