Repairing a MAF

I tried searching but I thought I read from another post that the MAF could be tested and repaired by someone/shop? Has anyone got their MAF tested and repaired?

Thanks!

i know it can be tested. but repaired? never heard of that. personally i wouldnt spend money having someone 'repair' it. because chances are it would go bad again.

Never heard of repairing them, although someone does 'remanufacture' them for AutoZone and other aftermarket parts places.

correct, they do remanufacture them. The question is: Do they come back calibrated or not.

They're 'calibrated' like *** from the factory anyway, so that wouldn't matter.

don't know about the repair question. but have heard that the MAF can be cleaned with compressed air; I once used too much oil on a K&N air filter and got the MAF dirty - shop cleaned it off with compressed air & fixed the problem.

no... compressed air is not used to clean an MAF. You will likely destroy it if you do that. You can gently spray MAF cleaner on it to clean it.
