I have a 96 GLE with BOSE stereo. There are couple of problems.
1. The display intermittantly goes off (This is where you see the radio station # etc.)
2. When I insert the CD it gives "Err" message.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions as to what's going on.

i upgraded my whole stereo setup for 400 bucks (the first time i did it)and it was much better than used to be. if you have the money i would suggest doing that than trying to prolong the life of an 11 y.o. HU...

 

my bose system quit working. I just unplugged the battery and plugged it back in (the negative battery cable) it came back to life
