i dunno what to do

ok so i ordered my smoked red/clears 2 weeks ago today off ebay, yeah i know. They send me an e-mail saying they have shipped the lights and give me a tracking number and all that good stuff. the lights dont come in after a week and a half and the tracking info isnt showing and progress, so i send them an e-mail asking what the deal is. no response. im very impatient already cuz i want these so bad, so the next day i send 3 e-mails one after the other. i think they got the point and sent me a message today saying the parts are on back order and it will be a couple weeks before they will be shipped. they say they will refund my money if i dont wanna wait. my question is should i refund and find them somewhere else, which i really havent seen them anywhere else, or just buy some red/clear outers and tint them myself? is it easy to do the tinting on lights?

I think I would go for the refund,, only because i would be interested in seeing if you get it. Seems kinda shady,, but I could be wrong

I had the same problem with CarParts via ebay. Ordered a replacement driver mirror and found out that it was on backorder. To get my refund back I had to put a good dealer comment in ebay.

If an ebay seller sent me a tracking number and then later explained they were on backorder and not actually shipped, I would get my refund (use a paypal complaint if necessary) and give negative feedback.

Any seller that lies about the status of an order is wrong. On eBay, the parts must be in hand and ready to ship. Remember, paypal protects you from bad sellers and if you file a complaint within your complaint period (45 days IIRC) you can get your money back. Just don't let their stalling keep you from filing that complaint in time.

As for the whole business of not being able to wait, prepare to get waxed in life. Treat business transactions like business transactions or else you'll be a sucker.

I had a similar problem once on Ebay with my first 4th gen. I bought a set of clear bumper lights. I never got them. So I asked for a refund and guess what...2 days after the refund the showed up on my door step. So I got a free set of bumper lights haha.
