SUPER CHARGING WITH 90K MILES IS IT SAFE

I PLAN TO SUPERCHARGE MY 96 SE MAX SOON,BUT THE CAR HAS 85K MILES ON IT.SO I AM WONDERING IF THIS IS A SAFE MOVE OR WHAT.A FRIEND TOLD ME THAT I SHOULD GET A PREASURE TEST DONE FIRST,IS THIS TRUE AND WILL IT STILL MAKE IT SAFE

i wouldn't recommend it because a mechanic told me that with that much mileage wouldn't be so safe. the reason that it's not safe is because, unless you are damn sure, if u have any problems big or little, noticed or not, putting a supercharger in would make it even worst. and it return u would get a messed up engine and maybe a damaged supercharger. a couple of grand right out the door. and then some more leaving the door when it goes bad.

1. STOP TYPING IN ALL CAPS!!!!

2. Be wary of supercharging any motor, with 40k or 140k on it. Forced induction will put a strain on any already comprimised parts. If you've got a aging and weak powertrain, you will definitely damage it.
Try the basic bolt on's first and save about 3k.. You might gain enough performance that supercharging won't be a "must have" anymore

i read in stillens catalog that a motor with over 80k should not be sc.

I agree with Jim W....jealous too..

The motor is already stressed.
Yes it's a quality built engine but its aluminum bottom end is not as strong as say ..the audi iron engine blocks.
But then again... you do only live once. Your car may be in the same boat however.
