The 95-96 cars DO NOT have a third O2 sensor on the b-pipe. They only have 2...both on the y-pipe. The 97-99 cars have the third O2 sensor on the b-pipe.

I dont think so, I jsut had my Y-pipe and cat replaced with aftermarket ones. There are only 2 O2 sensors(that part is correct) but one is on the Y-pipe and the other is on the cat. Trust me, I had this stuff done about 11 days ago.

Ok, enough of this mumbo jumbo! I know for a fact that there is two o2 sensors on the Y-Pipe{Rear heated o2 dsensor and front heated o2 sensor} and 1 on the Cat. I have put several Y-Pipes on my 95 and I have also installed a RT cat on my 95 and I have replaced several o2 sensors, so I know!

Actually the two on the y pipe are the front (upstream) o2 sensor and the one on the cat is the rear (downstream).

Your point exactly{no pun intended}? The o2 sensor on the Y-Pipe closest to the fire wall is called a rear heated o2 sensor AKA trouble code 0503. Please explain how the comment "upstream and down stream" o2 sensors got involved in this conversation? Thanks

You are mistaken about the rear o2 sensor. The front and the rear is in reference to the cat. The sensors in front of the cat are called front o2 sensors. The one at the back of the cat is called a rear o2 sensor. Another common name used instead of front and rear is upstream and downstream. I thought these terms might help but I guess it only made it more confusing. Sorry.
