ok, well being used to the speed of an auto, I found myself w/ a SI tonight... used to think it was a good race... I rolled him - easy. I loved it... the first light, he looks over, revs, and starts laughing at my car like I was a slow joke....... the next redlight, very confused frustrated look and he goes "WOAH dude, what you got under there, a supercharger right?" ... my response "nah, just some little stuff, you know"

I just can't get rid of these stupid modded out civics here in louisville, full body kits and all that ish... and I can run them off the line starting in 2nd.. GOSH!

oh yeah, I dont know why I found this soo funny, but I am looking at 19's (I want 20's... BAD!) and then I read this on the honda-acura.net board...
Why 18inches? That thing is gonna look like a 4x4. I had 17s and mine looked like a 4x4. Dont do it. Put some 16s on there if anything bigger than 15. That way you dont lose that much power. I am telling you from experience.... dont go any bigger than 16s unless you have a h22 or something
Haha, 15's, uhh stock ? They were all freaking out when this guy said 215 wide hahaha.... classic hondas.. this dude is rolling his wheel wells to fit 18's

I can see where the Honda guys are coming in terms of 17" and larger wheels. The Hondas are small cars therefore large wheels look enormous. IMO, 15s and 16s look perfect on many Hondas with suspension work. My buddy has a electron blue Si with coil overs and 15" Kosei K1 (anthracite finish). His ride looks awesome and it's strictly about performance, not a "touring" wanna be image. He use to be into the larger 16s and 17s, but he hated how much the rims slowed the car down and killed the ride. I too feel the same way about large rims......they're are worthless other than for looks. They kill performance, actually make handling and braking worse, and they make the ride harsher. I've had 17s and there are just too many compromises. I went with ultralight Kosei K1s (15 lbs). My car looks great and the design of the K1s make them look bigger that 16s plus they are a wide 7.5" vs 6.5 for stock. Running with 18s, 19s, and 20s will make your car much slower.

As for the Si's not being extremely quick, I can relate. I can also relate to the "you got a SC?" comment. With my y-pipe, I've got a fairly loud hiss in 2nd and 3rd which leads many guys to believe I've got a SC. If my exhaust is cold, I can wrap up 1st to 4000 and push in the clutch and the Y-pipe makes a sound EXACTLY like a BOV. The word on the street is that I have a SC. That's news to me. Si's are extremely hard to get off the line which I why we tend to kill them from 0-60. Most guys don't have a clue how to drive them....like most people in any car. From a roll, they aren't bad, but they still aren't much of a match until they dig into the engine somewhat.

yep, its the same here in louisville, many people say I'm supercharged... some of the ricers wont believe me when I tell them I'm not... haha

my car started making a new whiney noise when my rpm's are low... like the 700(at a redlight) up till about 2500rpm.. then its not loud, then 3500 the intake kicks in loud as ever... but the low rpm noise people always think somethings up... that, and I am sure everyone knows what Im talking about, but if you punch the gas hard in neutral, your car makes a realll fast suck noise before it revs, I love it

Funny boys in louisville, I just wonder.... if I race 2 ricer bs civics a day, how many can there be before allll of them have learned their lesson ? I can't get them to leave me alone, especially since people have heard about my car now - (I rolled up to a car meet earlier this week and guys walked over to my car (not normal) and were like "woah dude is this that fast maxima we keep hearing about")... its nice to have that said for once

Nothing wrong with them, but don't be a hypocrite calling other people riceboys if you have Altezzas and a giant exhaust.

Sorry to say guys but their are thousands of hondas and Acuras that no maxima in the world can touch. Don't diss on the four-cylinders too. Atleast they can travel more than two miles with out having to fill up their gas tank. I'm not talking sh*t about Maximas (i love mine too death) I'm just open to the fact that there is other great cars out there.

oh no doubt

no doubt there are 10 second civics, but if we had 50,000,000 modified maximas I'd hope we'd have a few 10second max's too! The chance that I am going to come across a civic or car of its likes that is faster then me, well I figure its about one in a million... your right though, yes there are some that we have no chance of hanging with... EXTREME small chance of ever meeting those guys on the streets though, first of all because of how many other civics, etc that there are, and 2nd because the guys with the 10second civics do not drive them as daily drivers, and 3rd because I'm in louisville - the only guys I have to watch out for are all the modded (and stock) supras, rx7's, camaro ss's, cobras, transams, vipers, 300zx tt's, etc etc etc... I feel pretty confident about the honda's here - but who knows.

Watch out for the older model Civics. My best friend is a Honda guy and his CRX Si with an Integra GS-R engine and a bunch of mods is stupid fast. But you have to know how the drive it - I will never forget the day he told me to run it to 8 grand rpm.

Haha! yeeeaAAAHHH! Represent!
I live in Queens, NY and I meet Si's w/ mods very frequently at red lights and for some weird reason most of them think that their Si has a chance to beat a Max. The Si is quick but not quick enough to beat a Max w/ a good driver. Bro, next time don't even bother w/ those ish.
