I want a change in my front end lights, so I was wondering if anyone knows any way to make the foglights yellow?

Bulb condoms? Someone at the midnight meet in Queens had them. Now I forgot who it was, but I do remember hearing about getting them at a motorcycle shop.

Not really. Spraying it will give you that color... but it will reduce your light output. And also, the paint will fade after a while.

Hella

Any truth to the reports that the Hella Yellowstars are prone to premature burnouts?

How long have you had them?

I'd like to get some yellow fogs and can't quite decide between Hella or Philips.

Re: Or you can get your foglamp H3 in yellow from here >>

For select Philips bulbs, check this place out. Seems to have great prices AND FREE SHIPPING (no minimum)!!!

Not sure where they are located but they ship worldwide. Just ordered so can't comment on reliability nor fulfilment timeliness.

http://www.autolamps-online.com/halogen/index.htm

Ordered 3 H3 Philips Allweather bulbs (one for spare).

Hella Yellow H3 85w?

I dont know what to do. 3 days ago I orderd the regular wattage foggys. I put them in and its nothing like the lexus GS400 yellow goggys. So would 85w be brighter then 55w and would it burn the wiring. Thanks.

I wouldn't go for the 85W bulbs. Some of the guys here have experienced overheated and eventually cracked lenses due to the high wattage bulbs. The reason why Lexus foglamps apprear so yellow is that they use a yellow tint on the reflector surface of the lamp...not a yellow bulb.

hmm

how different are the IS300/GS400 fogs from the 97-99 maxima's? Maybe, if not to big, we could somehow custom fit them in place of ours.

If you want that lexus yellow, you need to buy a nice set of "projector" fogs, there different cause they use a convex dichroic lens that will create that sharp concentrated beam pattern and will look just as nice if not nicer then the GS or IS if you buy form a quality company like Catz or PIAA
plus they use thick glass and a strong metal housing.....

maybe you can open up the foglight assembly like u can with the tail lamps and then tint the reflector urself with metallic yellow spray paint.

I got the Hella Yellowstars from Susquehanna Motor Sports.
Happy with results.
I was running with them on alla time with no problem.
Then I started to read posts about the possibility of a cracked lens.
So now I only use them at night when it's foggy out...

PIAA H3 Yellow

I have had the PIAA ion yellow foglights for about a year and a half. I love them. I think that they are pretty close to the look you want plus they are very bright. The only problem I have is that the driver side seems a little brighter than the passenger side

Dont get the 85W bulbs! I cracked my right fog light when it was cold last winter. Water spashed on them from a puddle and crack!!!! Get the 55W bulbs. They might not be as bright, but better that than a new fog light assembly.
Oh, and I used mine for 6 months before one of them ever blew.
