How to get maximum speed from a stock GXE auto no mods
#1
I own a 1997 nissan maxima GXE auto with no performance mods. How can i get the most speed from it when I want to go from let's say 40mph to 100mph. What would be the best way to get to 100mph the fastest.
Now I seen some posts that suggest to floor the gas up until you reach a certain gear, then let go and then slowly apply pressure on the gas pedal again to give the shifter/engine an easier/faster way of changing gears?
thanks

The fastest way is to plant your foot on the go pedal and dont let up. Simple. The technique you described has been needed by some to get the transmission to shift out of third gear at WOT. But, that was described by someone with a modified transmission that has since broken.
You probably have a speed limiter at about 117 mph so this isnt a concern anyway. Just floor it. Also, the only way to tell for sure if you have a limiter, no matter what you may hear, is to go out and try it. If you get a violent fuel cut off at just under 120 mph, you have a limiter. If you do, and you want to get rid of it, search for "speed limiter removal" and read the thread titled "ben's ECU mod"...it's all there.
