I was passing by Lexus dealership and remembered that they have 5 spd IS300 now. I stop by and check it out. Well!!! If they gave it to me for free I would take it, but never buy it. Its small as H e L L. I coulnt find the clutch and acelerator. I allways kept pressing the wall but not the gas pedal. Also it suppose to have more tourqe then a MAXIMA but it dont feel that way. Its pretty slow for that $$$. When I went back into my car I took it up to 3k rpm in second gear and pushed it not all the way and still managed to spin the tires. I love my !!!!MAX!!!!

I wonder how the new Altima would compete with the IS300. I saw one the other day. It looks bigger, really nice interior with somewhat similar to IS300 guages, the engine I am pretty sure is a better performer too. I don't know about the handling, but that can always be fixed. New Altima seems to be again, the best car for the money.

This one comes from autonet.ca for the 2002 Altima: "Key to its anti-boredom personality are two strongest-in-class new engines – a 2.5-litre balance-shaft "four" that outputs a robust 180 horsepower, and a new 3.5-litre, 240-hp version of the Maxima V6. Both engines will be available with manual transmission, in which form the V6 has a claimed 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) time of just 6.3 seconds.

6.3 secs isn't not bad. Let me see if I can find the 0-60mph for 5 speed IS300.

In this months C&D, a Lexus ad of the 5speed IS300 claims 0-60 in 6.8 seconds. I'm sure that's probably slightly conservative though 'cause I though their auto's ran about that time...

The autos were clocked at 7.0 sec 0-60mph with their e-shift.

THe IS300 5spd will definetly be slower then 95/96 5spd Maximas. I also heard that they will now have a station wagon model too. oops, I mean a "Sports Wagon", since its heavier , the 5spd version is supposed to run low 7s

I like all of the IS300 looks except for the rear lights... the angular layout doesn't match the lines on the rest of the car...

When I first saw the car, the rear lights reminded me of a Korean karaoke club (i've actually been in a lot of them) -- and then later I read a very similar comment from an automobile journalist in some car magazine.

I personally hate IS300 because my Ex-Biache brought one a month ago and she dumped me before she even peel off the sticker from the window.
She thinks the IS300 would make her hottie or some crap and now she thinks she could get any guy she wants.
To me, it looks like IS300 has Hyundai Elantra front and the back from riceboy¡¯s civic.
Yo! Biache~ I will hunt you down and chock your a$$, too! Biache~~~
