yeah... i brought it into a local mechanic... he nearly **** a brick when he saw the original factory nissan filter on. Then I told him the mileage...

we did that at like 1700 miles cause the car was sitting for a while. we bought the car with like 998 miles on it.

Sweet. I'm going to start a paper route right now. Do you plan to do the install yourself? It looks like it wouldn't be to difficult.

43k on a 99.... About average. When I bought it, I was actually going for a 98 that had 22k and I thought THAT was low.

wow

High mile guys with automatics........ any problems yet? Do you drive spirited?

I'm scared ****less that my auto tranny might die, as it did on my 93 SE auto and felt the same way it did before it died, just a year after the rebuilt. that's why i got rid of it along with "other" reasons.. but the 4th gen is smoother, although i'm still scared.... how do your auto trannies hold up at high miles?

thanks

I haven't had any problems w/my auto tranny, only serviced it twice, once @ 60K and once at 122K, had the system flushed with synthetic atf each time. With my looong daily commute, I should be close to 150k by the end of this year. My 98 has really been "mechanically" trouble free except for a tired oxygen sensor at around 100k
