Go with a FSTB and RSB. You can also do a Y-pipe

yeah, i agree. FSTB and RSB. little things like the bulbs for the license plates and doors. superwhite all your lights. do the research and see what you like. use search on this website.

Forget about cosmetic mods. Go with the FSTB and RSB. You will be pleased with the results.

Regarding mods and parents. The way I see it, if you paid for the car with your own money, and are responsible for all costs of owning the car (insurance, fuel, and maintenance), then you can do whatever you want to the car. But if you parents are paying for everything, show them some consideration by respecting their wishes and not modding it. A Maxima is a wonderful car for parents to buy their kids, and personally I would be eternally grateful if that happened to me! Even in stock form, the Max will outperform most cars on the street.

What sort of mods were you looking for? Performance? Looks? That will let people in on where you want to go with it. Nice choice of cars by the way. Is it auto or stick?

Performance: y-pipe. With stock exhaust system, the noise should barely increase, definitely wouldn't be noticeable with normal driving, probably at WOT. An intake will not be noticeable at normal driving, but will be loud at WOT. I'm guessing you won't ever floor it with your parents in the car anyways.

Handling: Front strut bar and rear sway bar. Those two things will do wonders to your handling and you won't be sacrificing ride quality.

Hope this helps.
