i did that self diognostic thing to my 96 max and i got two codes.... one being...0903 witch means EVAP canister control valve... that has to do with the a/c i suppose... but thats not what concerns me..... the other code was 0304... witch said it was the Knock sensor.... what is a knock sensor... and what are the symtoms of somthing bad about to happen.... do u know the part #... or where i can get it..... any info will be greatly appreciated..

i'm not daniel b, but i can share my recent experience with you ... i too have the knock sensor code in my car & some other helpful members here said it's probably an error on nissan's part. chances are your sensor is fine. good luck & i'm sure mr. martin can help you much more than i can.

It seems I had or may still have that Knock thing light up too. Never affected the car though, as far as I can tell.
Now I get a code for the Valve control after I installed the cone filter?!!?!?! (ANY HELP ON THIS?)

and my AirBag began flashing again, reset won't make it go away anymore. Gets annoying, and I don't want to spend so much money analyzing it and fixing it at the dealer. (ANYONE???)

There is a campaign out for certain Max's..I have a 96 and there is some sort of emission campaign..it will replace a bunch of o2 sensors and some of the evap sensors, perhaps you car has not had this done.

You may want to check it out with you local dealer.

Right now, I have a check engine light on for my two front o2 sensors and the knock sensor, but have read that they go hand in hand, so I am not real concerned with the knock sensor..
