Of course you have to cut a hole in the fender to install them!!

You can tap the head and and signal I believe and run a relay?

alternate w/ the blinkers? don't know if you'd need a relay for that or what.. I just spliced into the front blinkers, but mine only turn on and off w/ the turn signal... I've heard of others tapping into the existing "sidemarker" (OEM) and having them light up when the parking/headlights are turned on... i don't think those blink though...

i think gtr_rider is right though if you really want them to "alternate", and come on w/the lights

has anyone done this??

I did this about a year ago. You can tap into the side clearance lights or the turnsignal lights. If you tap into the clearance lights they won't blink during a turn but will always be on when the lights are on. If you tap into the turn signal they will only light up when you turn the turn signal on, but won't be on any other time.

Suggestions---get a dremmel and some patience and make lots of measurements. Also, get some rust converter and make certain to apply it to the fender after you make the cut---then prime it and apply some paint...any color is fine because the clearance light will cover it---you are just looking for good protection. When you intall the screws into the fender to fasten the clearance light make sure to apply some clear silicone to the back of the clearance light and to the screw to help prevent rust and water leakage too.

Email me if you have any more questions...I have tons of pics.

can't

I don't think you can. The clearance lights to the side of the headlights are on only when the turnsignal is on and the parking lights. The turnsignals are only on when you turn---so you have to pick in my mind..

You can but I remember there's a diff between 95-96 and 97+
I've done it on my 96. If I've some spare time, maybe I'll look at the wiring and make a diagram. Jumbo of wires down there and can't really remember how. It's very similar to the procedures for rewire your blinkers to alternate.

I'll be installing my replacement diamond clear tomorrow so I'll take a look at the wiring I did and make a diagram.

u can make aftermarket side-markers to stay on and blink alternately...there is a write-up on how to make ur clear bumper to stay on and blink alternately...well it's the same idea and process...u tap into the positive of the reflector....and tap the other into the pos wire of the blinkers...this is turn will let the side-marker remain on and blink when u have the turn signals on...i think www.maximadriver.com has a write-up for the bumper lights...it's the same idea/process...

He's right. Just get the pos from the turn signal and side-marker. Then when you have your lights on, the aftermarket side-marker will blink alternately. That's what I did to mine

Find a source that has 12v on when the igition is on, then wire that to one side of both lights, the other side gets the red wire from the turn signals. That way when the car is running any time with lights on or off and no signals, the lights are on. Then if you signal, the light will also blink.

Yeah, that should work. That should make them light when the turn signals are lit. Is that what you wanted? Did you say you wanted them on all the time? Even when the lights are off, but the car is running?

If so, you have to run one leg of the marker light (either one) to a 12v source thats on whenever the car is running, the radio power is an example, then the other leg has to go to the positive side of the turn signal. It may be green or it may be red.

Whoa, that's backwards. You'll want to wire the negative of the sidemarker (black) to the positive of the turn signal (green). Don't cut the green wire, just splice into it. Then wire the positive of the aftermarket sidemarker (red), to the positive of your factory sidemarker (also red). Don't cut the factory wire, just splice into it.

Yupp - like Nightrider said. Whatever you want to blink with signals - aftermarker sidemarker, clearance, nozzle light, etc. take it's ground wire and tap to positive wire on blinkers. If you want it to remain on and blink, take it's positive wire and tap to positive wire that remains live ie stock sidemarkers next to clearance. You can apply this to almost anything. Hope that makes sense, it's simple as that - duhh!

had another question

If I were to wire the black wire of the side marker to the positive wire of the turn signal...where would the positive of the side marker go?

I've been running this setup for two years and no problem. Signals and Sidemakers plus aftermarket sidemarkers all stay lit and blink when signaling. I don't think anyone else has a problem of blowing out "all" the lights. Check your wiring...

If your refering to aftermarket sidemarkers wire + to + source that stays on, ie stock sidemarkers.

No, it makes perfect sense to me. See, if you just want it on all the time without blinking, you hook the positive wire to any 12v source, and the ground to ground. (If thats too hard to follow, better let someone else do it) Then, if you want it to blink with the blinkers and stay on when they dont blink, keep the + wire on the 12v source and put the ground to the + of the signal instead of ground. See, that way when the signals are not blinking, you get ground thru the + on the signal (sounds odd, but its true and it works) and when the signals flash, you get intermittant 0v to it, thus the blinking!

If thats too hard to follow, I can try to make a diagram.
