So I just got my catback exhaust put in today and I feel like I might have made a mistake... My car sounded so sweet with just the cold air intake sound but now the exhuast almost completely drains it out. The exhuast is just to much for me. I have a Y-pipe, highflow cat and everything else is 2.5 pipping all the way to the muffler which is made by borla. I knew before hand the y-pipe and high flow cat was going to add some extra noise but I didnt realize that it was going to be this loud. So that brings me to this question would all the exhaust work I had done be point less if I just swapped out the rear peice and maybe put my stock muffler back on or maybe a 5th gen muffler? would that even quite the noise a bit or would that just be a stupid idea? Let me know...

 

why dont you just get a silencer? try that it tones mine down alot.

yea, i have a 2.5" catback custom w/o a silencer, and it rasps like hell, would a glasspack welded in for a resonator help this at all?

 

I think if you tried to put back on the stock one it would probably buzzz at high rpm.
