Indiglo gauges... Not worth it

I have just installed indiglo gauges for my 95 Maxima, and I say it's not worth it... Personally I like the stock gauges better.
The K-initials gauges are of the poorest quality I guess.
The texture seems kinda cheap and the glow is not that bright either.

Anyways, I might be just ****ed at them cause while connecting the wires, I cut the dimmer wires too short, it was too much hassle to install.

aka Cheezy-Glo

Why did you want them in the first place?

I have a friend installed one on his civic, and it looks really nice.
But his gauge faces are gloss finished, whereas mine has kinda rough surface texture...

dang!

I bought the Initial K indiglos and put them on. Had sticky needles and all that, so after about just about three weeks, I sold them.

I have had them on for a while now...since about a month after they came out...right after Cheston put up the installation instructions. I have had NO problems at all with mine...they are plenty bright, they should not have been wired to the dimmer in the first place and the rough satin finish is very nice as opposed to the shiny gloss look...very much worth the money I spent.

Ususally I either run them all the way up or almost all the way down to get the red needles to glow in contrast to the blue guages.

I should... but in all fairness, the first batch for the 95-97 gauges had several flaws with them. I could have sent in my gauges and gotten a replacement set, but at the time, I was driving around a lot at night and the indiglos were hurting my eyes, even at a lower brightness setting.

I sold them and just haven't really thought about getting them again.

My 96 Gauges from Initial K are fine and plenty bright. I had them hooked up right the first time and I have no problems. I like the rough surface better then the shinny kind because there is no glare.

I have indiglos on my 95 too. I love them! They were a hasle to put on cause of the sticky needle problem, but I used my head and fixed that. They are really bright and I actually like the glossy finish. They especially go good with my alluminum gauge bezel.

My Indiglos are so bright that my friends who first saw me driving at night said they could see this huge blue glow off my face as I pulled up to them.

(I have since turned them down)

I wired it to the +12v on the Dimmer Control, and it worked great.

Why not hook it up to the dimmer?

Re: Indiglo gauges... Not worth it

I think that the white SE gauges are pretty cool and look great with my black leather.

Rub it in, why don't you?

Pfffft... I'm completely content with my black gauges and tan leather.
