Steering problem

Okay, so I got in my car this morning backed up switched to reverse then back in drive and as I was turing the wheel sharply to the left the steering wheel felt like it was bumpy and it was a little hard to turn. When I left work it did the same thing only worse felt. I went to turn the steering wheel and it felt like it was grinding.. I cant really explain it to well but any ideas?

that sounds to me like your rack is going bad. when its cold its hard to turn. so, do these 2 things: 1. flush your p/s fluid and have them put some conditioner in with the new fluid and 2. check your level as rockart said and look for leaks in and around the power steering resevoir. if its low, it will make noise and turn hard. be careful, colder air makes it worse.
