i was right lol

Quote: basically, the best thing you can expect from this fan is for it to create a swirling effect which will in turn aid in air / fuel mixing, and help fuel mileage/performance. that is why some people think those 'tornado' inserts are a great idea.
which still wouldn't work because the screen in front of your maf straightens the air up so it can get an accurate reading, but if you cut that off the readings would be wrong so all and all what i think everyone is saying is...

DONT NICKLE RIG YOUR **** UP B/C IT LOOKS TACKY AND DOESN'T WORK, AND HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THIS MOD TO A DUDE AT A STREET RACE OR CAR SHOW OR ANYWHERE ON THE STREETS "UM, ITS A COMPUTER FAN OUT OF A GATEWAY WITH AN INTEL PENTIUM D PROCESSOR THAT GIVES ME SOME CFM AND A AIR SWIRLING EFFECT THAT DOESN'T EVEN HELP **** AND I AM GOING TO HAVE TO REPLACE IT EVERY WEEK BECAUSE THE BUGS,DIRT,ROCKS,ECT. WILL BREAK IT" THEY WILL LAUGH AT YOU

Yes, lock it up. I get this all the time from everyone except those few who have actually had the cohones to try out the mods I suggested.

I'm a betting man, and I invite anyone in the area to come by the North Florida Maxima group's meeting on Sunday night if you'd like to genuinely prove me wrong. I'll gladly take any bets that you have which says the fan won't do squat, or will not last beyond two weeks. Seems like easy money in the bank for all the naysayers.

Well, it does what I said it does, but so many think that every mod has to be validated by 1/4 mile times and dyno tests, it is hard to get across the reality that they are irrelevant to daily driving in traffic, which mostly consists of running errands around town.

Going WOT to redline anywhere in this neighborhood is just not going to happen.

Apparently, nobody sees the worth of having better acceleration at partial throttle, which is a bit strange when you consider that a lighter foot on the pedal is what helps save gas.

Also, it helps wear and tear on one's neck. My tranny has a bad habit of delivering neck-snapping shifts when you least expect them. The fan mod has reduced this tendency.

Folks, you would have to see the fan to realize that it is as close to a standard computer case fan as a machete is to a paring knife.

I post these things to help others, and it is no big deal if people decide not to try them.

I have no problem with criticism that's constructive, but some of the comments here remind me of a lynch mob.

I take it all in stride because I will continue to use this until something better comes along.

Thanks to everyone who made constructive comments and suggestions.

For the rest of you, time to go back to those exciting posts about "What springs do you run on your Max?"

Peace.

You aren't saving crap. More air = more fuel, unless your ECU or MAF are seriously screwed up. Think about it.

Well, I thought that everyone made it clear that I'm not getting any more air, so, no air, no foul.

Thanks for bringing it to my attention. It's really hard driving like there's an egg between my foot and the pedal.

This thread is LOLZ FUNNY...

You don't even know how heads are flow tested...

DO me this favor hook up an OBD2 sensor and go see how high your MAF reads with the Fan.. Then Remove fan and see how high it reads without the fan..

You will soon find you are a retard love your pal

P.S. Yes, this is my first post but this thread made me LOLZ so much that I had to reply.
