DId 90 K maintenance
Hello,
I recently got the 90 k maintenance and engine tune up done at Don davis in Arlington ,texas. I paid 400$ for it.(50$ extra for the spark plugs)
I have a 95 maxima with 97k miles.i put on 12k miles in 6 months.
was in great shape except for last month with check engine light,
not giving grt performance on acceleration.
I have got a new Die hard battery.
The following diagnosis was give to me:
1)left axle needs replacement
2)rear oxygen sensor replacement
3)rear brakes 30%, front brakes 85%
4)oil sending unit leak
5)minor leak in cooler transmission line
6)replace strut bearings
7)do a cleanup of fuel injection
8) flush power steering fluid
I plan to do the axle and 02 sensor from a bodyt shop. It will save me 150$ over the dealer.Having already paid 400$ to the dealer.
Please advice on the other items. How important are those and what shud i be spending on them. How important is the oil sending unit work.
DO i need the fuel injection clean up after replacing the fuel and air filters as part of the maintenance.
Thanks

The o2 sensor should be in warranty from the dealer. Check into it. I had mine done for free on my 96. There is a recall for them. Change the oil pressure sending unit yourself. Takes 2 seconds. Costs about $10 retail. Do it next time you change your oil. Throw a bottle of Techron in the tank to clean your fuel injectors. The rest is up to you.....

I noticed you had a leaking transmission cooler line. You can replace that yourself with the manufacturer's part and save the dealer's labor cost. Don't worry, fluid won't come gushing out of the transmission or radiator while you do the replacement.
As for fuel injection service, Chevron Techron Concentrate works great. A couple bottles, and you feel the pep from clean fuel injectors.
The strut bearings are your call. The part is very cheap, but the labor is very expensive. I don't think it is dangerous to drive with worn out strut bearing though.
As for your rear brakes, you will know they need replacing when you hear the brake wear indicators.
