Found my 95 M/T maxima on cars.com, bought it for $3300 from owner. Had 100K miles at that time (one year ago). My first car, had no idea how powerful this car is until I first took it on highway! 60mph in 2nd gear in no time, that was awesome!
The car ran perfect for 3 months, then I had to change the clutch as it started to slip. Other repairs since then: brakes, valve cover gasket, one fuel injector, lower ball joints.

 

bought my 95 se auto with 140,000 mile from my girlfriends mom for 700.
needed radiator and driver side tie rod ends which were in the trunk.I have also had to replace the rear caliper brackets,they were rattling around and driving me crazy.other then that the car runs great.oh yeh, it has a nasty scrape on the passanger rear door where she hit the gas pump????

4) both heads pressure tested and shaved, water pump replaced, radiator replaced, oil pressure sensor replaced, aftermarket speaker had to be repaired in the rear, heater core bypassed (cuz I'm too cheap to replace it yet,) new battery, costmetic repair to the rear bumper, complete refinish of the interior to black on hammered brass. Oh yeah, and we had to shove a pipe through the cat a few zillion times to get it to stop turning cherry red, lol.

 

I'm from Newton, Ma and have a 96 maxima GLE. I'm thinking about selling this car and purchasing a 99 SE. I was wondering at which area did you purchase your car?

I bought it in Y2K, had 36,500-mi., looked and drove like new, well taken care of
Bought it from an ad by an individual in the Denver Post (Denver is 100-mi. away) who was buying a new 2000 Maxima at the time.
I replaced plugs and two sensors @ 60K miles, then belts and water pump at 120K miles.
This morning it looks like I need another sensor replacement (presently 128K miles)

 

^^^^^ Oh, and I forgot to mention, I paid $16,800 for it in Y2K w/ the 36,500-mi on the clock.

 

Found mine at a local budget lot (through autoextra) just last June, after the Dynasty took a s***. The owner's son had been driving it around and was quite disappointed when he had to switch to a Buick Regal after I bought it.

1999 5spd SE, CA-spec (unfortunately), Sterling Mist (also unfortunately..), Bose unit, cruise, bone stock, not a scratch on it, a couple lights out, broken antenna, the only thing I can tell that's been replaced is the starter. Came from Maryland and there's hardly any rust underneath (what it's got is probably from it's short time up here in Ohio). I got it for $4000 just shy of 140,000mi.

I notice lots of guys with bad Knock Sensor, MAF Sensor, Right O2 Sensor and so on.....maybe I'm lucky but my sensors seem to be fine. How would I know if I have a bad sensor?

97 5 Speed SE @ 130,000 miles over 3 years ago purchased for $2800 at an owner to owner lot. I wasn't even looking for a Maxima at the time and was actually looking at a weak little 94 Civic DX for the same price. Drove both, fell in love with the VQ30. Drove it home. Ran 13's w/ under $1500 in mods. Civic would have taken a decent amount more.
