Fog light rewire, what did I do wrong?

OK, I rewired my fogs acording to the instructions at the Max FAQ and Bryans instructions.
http://web2.airmail.net/scutchen/max_faq/
http://www.users.voicenet.com/~breau...fogrewire.html

When I turn on my parking lights my fogs come on (with the fog light switch), but so does my Left headlight WTF. If I turn the headlight switch on both headlights come on normally and the fogs stay on. I took it all apart again to double check and I did tap into the green/yellow stripe wire.

Dunno, I followed Andi's instructions from the same website http://web2.airmail.net/scutchen/max_faq/ and everything works fine for me.

Hmmmm.. sounds like a bad ground, but why only one light.... did you make sure to wrap the wire you cut so it's not touching anything?

suggestion

power the fog solenoid to from the wiper relay solenoid ground

this will allow you to turn on fogs WHENEVER regardless of other lights.. AND it will turn your fogs off for you when you turn the car off

( notice the wipers only work when car is on )

You suppose to cut the wire in half. I believe you just tapped it.

I did just tap it, that must be it. I was thinking about it last night and was going to cut the wire today to see if it fixed it. I am glad to hear that is the correct way to do it. I just went back and reread the instructions and see they said to cut it. I think seeing the blue wire tap in the pic made me think you just had to tap into it.

Thanks for the help.

Glad to help. I have done bunch of foglight rewires ~10, so I know the common mistakes that people make.
