i was actually planning on putting a short ram into my 97 in the next month or so. ive never heard anyone say i would LOSE power with an aftermarket intake......

so what then?

what is a STALL? ive never heard that...

what about a YPipe? how much am i looking at to buy that and pay to have it installed (i assume it has to be done at a shop)

what will the upgraded ECU do?

I just put my stock Intake back on, I was running a Place Racing one before. It feels like I have a little more power, but it could just be all in my head.

And most likely, since your car has been in Florida chances are the stock Y pipe isn't too rusted , so labor shouldn't be too bad. Up here in NE my stock pipe was completely rusted so it took a for a while for a shop to install the Y-pipe. I paid $200 to have it installed because the guy knew it was illegal and was be a ***** about it.

From what I have been told, an upgraded ECU will just extend your rev limiter, and you will get the most benefit from a MEVI or a 00VI then the upgraded ECU.

HE asked a question and PEOPLE gave THEIR opinion on what THEY thought was the best upgrade. so why are YOU getting so defensive anyway it's not your thread .

stock intake = more low and mid-range power

cai = more high in power

Hey just to update you guys I went and test drove a 5 speed, and holy **** it felt good. I definatly think I am going to get a 5 speed. The one I test drove was a 1999 SE-L with 119,000k he is going to sell it to me for $5000, so I think im going to get that, its like a pearl white color it looks sick.

What can I use in my defense. The core support has no rust, and the tires are alright. The car is throwing no codes and the exhaust is brand new from the headers back. He had it at $5100 but so far I got him to $5000

Sorry to bring this back, but it's nice to see someone who can see/hear past the cone/growl!!!!

Lets see. As a daily driver, do I:

A: Use more low and mid range power

or

B: Use more high end power (reach 6k rpm's between every stop light.)

Hmmmmm....................................
