RPM issues
I was driving yesterday after finally getting my car back on the road. (I just changed my valve cover gaskets which was my first major engine project and took me a week and a half) While I was driving I noticed it ran rough and almost stalled if I let off the the gas all at once. That's almost the way it was acting when I had my bad MAF sensor. Later that day I hit the gas and it went up to about 5500rpm then twitched back to 4500, and completed the power band normally after that. AGAIN that same day the O/D off light started strobing on and off for a few seconds then stopped. As I mentioned I just changed the vc gaskets and I am new to engines is there anything I could have screwed up? I also did the ghetto air box mod not too long ago, and I have an electrical short somewhere in the dash from having the gauges out without disconnecting the neg battery terminal (stupid mistake I know).
any ideas??

Get the code read. flashing OD light = TCM has detected a problem. This code can be read from the SES/CEL light, BUT it's a general TCM malfunction code and doesn't help you zero in on the problem. That is why you need tog et the 'OD' light read.

Theres a way to manually check this while sitting in the car; using the OD Light and how many times it blinks can determine the specific issue.
This is also in the Hayne's manual and explains how to go about doing this
