Alutec FSTB and Paradox RSTB Installed(PICS!!!)

Today I installed the Alutec FSTB and Paradox RSTB. Not to my surprise neither one fit perfectly. The Alutec needed to have washers added on both sides to keep the strut mount nuts from gouging the mounting plates. The Paradox RSTB needed both mounting plates trimmed to sit flush with a bench grinder. All in all I did not mind doing this but some other people might not have been able to do this. Im very happy with both of these products but in my opinion they look better than they perform. My .02 Enjoy........

I had the same problem with the RSTB, I figured for $40 shipped though, I wouldn't complain. Looks like you trimmed yours the same way I did mine.

just spray the nuts with some penetrating oil over night and you should be fine. there was only minor trimming needed to make the paradox mounts sit perfectly so it shouldnt be a problem.

UPDATE!!! These bars actually do make a small difference with keeping the car more planted. This conclusion is based on turns that i take every day plus little things like pulling into gas stations and my driveway, any small incline that you go up sideways. I am already dropped on S-Techs and Tokico Illuminas and 225/50/16 pirelli's so someone with a factory suspension car might notice a bigger difference.

qno i think most 3 peice strut bars dont do that much since the move at the pivot point created were the bolt connects the bar to the plates. i do agree with you that the look very nice.

My FSTB, which is just a cheapo ebay unit, has to be installed with some effort. I actually have to pull on the bar a little bit to get the second bolt in to link it all together. I'd say it's helping to stiffen up the wet noodle that is an A32 chassis at least a LITTLE.

Yes.... at least a little +1
Next is RSB. I saw a install writeup on an Addco and it looked like it really tied teh rear suspension together. But I dont think I can find an Addco for the 4th gen, only 3rd. Any suggestions for a RSB anybody!!!!
