95-96 to 97-99 trunk switch... same right??

I know the tail lights are a little different but the trunk lid itself is the same right??? I REALLY HOPE SO!!!

No. They're not the same. If you're going from a 95/96 to 97/99 the trunks are not the same. You need the 97/99 trunk lid.

are you trying to just put a 97-99 trunk/trunk switch on a 95/96 car.?

The situation is I have a 99 Maxima and I have taken a 96 trunk from a junk car and i plan to put on the 96 trunk on my 99... Ive read that it SHOULD work...

Try your luck but I guarantee it won't work. Inner lights are different. The 97/99 trunk lights are sunken in and the bottom of the lid is different compared to the 95/96.

I know the lights are different but im pretty certain that the trunk lids will match up... ill give it a try when i get home tomoro

Yeah I will work, but your lights will not fit properly.
Like a few people above said, the 95/96 trunk is sunken in, while the 99 one is all flat.

try it, i think problems gonna arise, yes the lights wont match up, might not close correctly either or sumin, cause 96 trunks have grooves and other different things.

I know that the lights wont fit... im getting total new ones... but i have heard the trunks are the same... at least dimension wise... ill post pics as i go when i make the conversion... hopefully later today...

the trunk will fit. They have slightly different designs but a lot of people have done swap but usually from a 95-96 to a 97-99 not the way your doing it, but i think it will be fine

I believe the styling changed a bit in 97. I dont think it'll work

Im gonna take spoiler off of the 96 and put it on my 99... if you need a trunk lid check the classifieds later...
